Chainsaw artist thrives in three dimension

Wood sculpture

Creating art inside his Nerstrand barn studio, Involdstad takes orders for slab furniture or rustic pieces like a carved wooden bench, custom-carved mantel, bar or even a bed frame. Soon he will sell art from his studio, but can also be commissioned to design relief-carved wood panels for a business, home or cabin. To see this artists wood-carved sculptures and other chainsaw art and furniture creations, go to http://www.woodsculpture.net . Posted: Tuesday, July 16, 2013 12:12 pm | Updated: 9:49 pm, Tue Jul 16, 2013. Chainsaw woodcarver Curtis Ingvoldstadsaid he thinks of art in three dimension. So, it is only natural his wood sculptures express his creative mindset. Starting from a simple, flat tree stump or a raw piece of cedar, oak or redwood, this wood sculptor can transform wood into three-dimensional art. But the finished wood sculpture is only half the story. Seeing wood shavings fly, smelling sawdust and hearing the loud hum from his electric chainsaw can be amazing to witness. Carving wood sculptures in his quonset hut-style barn in Nerstrand, Ingvoldstadlikes the feeling of the 70-foot high ceiling because open space inspires him. His studio workshop is located on his 27-acre homestead where he makes a home with his wife, Desiree, and 4-year-old son, Quinn. Whatever someone can dream up, Ingvoldstad, 43, is up to the challenge. Showcasing his carving talent, he constructed a wooden bench from a large tree trunk Saturday down by Cannon River at Riverwalk Market Fair.

Man airlifted from Miriam Vale after chainsaw accident

Movies Millennium, Texas Chainsaw 3D Team Resurrecting Zombie Flick Day Of The Dead By THE DEADLINE TEAM | Deadline.com Thu, Jul 11, 2013 12:49 AM EDT View Photo Millennium, Texas Chainsaw 3D Team Resurrecting Zombie Flick Day Of The Dead As zombies continue to stalk screens both big and small, the third pic in George A. Romeros original undead trilogy will walk again. Texas Chainsaw 3D producers Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell are teaming with Millennium Films and Taurus Entertainment to revive Day Of The Dead , which originally rose in 1985 and was revived in a straight-to-video version in 2008. Contrary to other recent zombie remakes, our Day of the Dead will honor Romeros original vision by reviving the slow, brooding zombie that terrorized so many of our childhoods, Grobman tells Deadline. The trend of the fast, agile, sprinting zombie creates a lot of great jump-out-of-your-seat moments, but it doesnt compare to the psychological fear and tension that builds when going up against Romeros original undead army. Romeros film followed his 1968 genre classic Night Of The Living Dead and 1979 sequel Dawn Of The Dead. Day Of The Dead revolved around survivors of the worldwide zombie apocalypse who struggle to survive in fortified enclaves while trying to figure how to reverse the calamity. Our goal is to reset the genre by finding the perfect balance between nostalgia and modernity, Grobman says, all while crafting a story that has both heart and brains literally. The remake is budgeted at $10M-$20M. Producers Grobman and Campbell, whose Texas Chainsaw 3D topped $34M this year, plan to start shooting in the winter for a 2014 release. Avi Lerner who worked with Boaz Davidson, Mark Gill, James Dudelson, and Robert Dudelson will serve as executive producers.

Fearing a storm might bring the limbs crashing down on his fence, he decided to be proactive and cut off the limbs himself. Meanwhile, the chainsaw maniacs neighbors watched in horror. Dudes got a chainsaw, they probably said to one another. Hes cutting limbs off of his trees with a potentially deadly power tool. Can human limbs be far behind? You see, the maniacs neighbors already know of his decidedly lame lawn maintenance skills. Theyve seen the clover that renders his yard almost as white as it is green. Theyve seen the mutant weeds sprouting wildly from his hedges, like green, radioactive versions of Andy Rooneys eyebrows. Theyve seen the scorched brown earth of mid-July, a product of seasonal drought and inconsistent watering. The chainsaw maniac cant help it, because lame landscaping is encoded in his DNA. One year his grandfather, rather than dig up several tree stumps in his yard, simply painted them green in hopes that they would blend in with the grass.

Games Inbox: Sony, Lollipop Chainsaw and Pac-Man Vs

Thursday 11th July - Evening Inbox

The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted the PS2 or Xbox version. Uh, neither, the Gamecube one please. Initially I hated the design of console and controller, until I actually held one at a games show. It was so comfortable to hold, although I still cant remember which way around the X and Y buttons are. I first played one of my favourite Gamecube games at ECTS. While there werent that many games available to play at the show (they seemed to favour showing off graphics cards) I did manage to see XIII and play Mario Kart Double Dash! in some karts outside by a big screen. But what really grabbed me was Pac-Man Vs. I got it with an imported copy of R: Racing Evolution (which I barely played) and it was one of the best multiplayer games ever made.

Corinna man charged with stealing truck, chainsaw in Dexter

DEXTER, Maine A Corinna man wound up behind bars nearly three weeks after allegedly taking a vehicle on a joyride and stealing a chainsaw, according to police. A pickup truck was reported stolen from a Water Street residence at 2:36 a.m. on June 24, Dexter police Sgt. Allen Grinnell said on Thursday. The vehicle was recovered on an ATV trail later that day and had minor damage. A chainsaw that was in the truck was missing. Brennan McGeoghegan, 22, of Corinna was arrested by Grinnell and Chief Kevin Wintle on Wednesday afternoon. We checked area pawn shops and were able to obtain some information concerning the chainsaw, Grinnell said. That led us to the suspect. Lincoln police assisted in recovering the chainsaw from a Lincoln pawn shop. McGeoghegan was taken to the Dexter police station and charged with theft by unauthorized taking, a Class C felony. He was released on $500 unsecured bail. However, he was later taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor because of a warrant for an unpaid fine.
